Call of Duty: WWII emphatically succeeds in its impactful designs and delivery. The sensation of riding the troop carrier as it approached the beach filled me with depression more than dread, knowing I'd survive eventually while many of my surrounding brothers in arms wouldn't. While not equally emotional, this battle's reinterpretation in War mode proves to be a highlight in a superb suite of competitive modes. Zombies rounds off this stellar return to form, effectively blending the ferocity of online cooperative play with the goal-driven satisfaction of found in the campaign. As one of the most comprehensive and filler-free Call of Dutys in recent memory, Call of Duty: WWII successfully capitalizes on the series' strengths. Read full review...

Call of Duty: WWII is a great entry into the long-running series. Sledgehammer has done a fantastic job in creating a Call of Duty that will appeal to contemporary fans and those fans who might have favourable memories of earlier games in the series. It often walks a fine line between thoughtful representation of World War II and typical Call of Duty flamboyance, but it’s a line that Sledgehammer walks with confidence. The result is a Call of Duty that feels assured of what it’s trying to accomplish, and what it accomplishes is riveting, entertaining and at times hard-hitting. Read full review...

on the ground. Gone are the jump-jets and wall-runs. To compensate, map design has been dialled back in size. While you’re still getting your typical “three-lane” setup, maps are now about as wide as they are long. Because player density isn’t as much of an issue – no one is running down one lane at 300 kilometres-per-hour – firefights with larger groups crop up more frequently. It’s frantic, kinetic, and fun. 4. GameInformer

Nazi Zombies is the scariest iteration of the mode that has graced a Call of Duty title, boasting some jump scares and an absolutely occult vision of the Final Reich. Casual players coming over from other modes should have no problem surviving for much longer than they have in previous entries. However, the focus remains on discovery; players must do much more than slaughter legions of zombies, such as enabling an escape-tube network, powering up generators, unlocking a weapon power-up station, finding clues hidden in paintings, and more. Nazi Zombies plays more like a structured story than previous versions, with themed encounters hitting alongside the standard wave-based fare. Read full review...

5. GamingTrend

The core zombies gameplay is here, but this time, instead of boarding up windows and repairing barricades, you’re given a persistent melee’ weapon (shovel), and much wider open spaces than in previous installments. Additionally, there are consumables such as unlimited ammo and one-hit kills that you can equip before each session, and each character gets one free self-revive action. Every section of the map offers something interesting, and there are a handful of environmental traps that can be set off to spectacular effect against your undead foes. It was nice to see a harder horror take on Zombies once again. Read full review....
